Book Review: "Sons of the Buddha"

 4-Stars

In “Sons of the Buddha”, Kamala Tiyavanich has done a very fine job of presenting biographical information in the form of interesting stories and anecdotes, keeping the me entertained and interested.  I’ll admit that the writing was a little choppy in places, but that’s easily forgiven.  The book reads as if the three “Sons of the Buddha”, the three Siamese (Thai) Buddhist monks that the book is about, are sitting with the reader and friends talking about their childhood days.  In addition to learning about these three monks, you also learn quite a bit about the culture and life in rural Siam, in what is now known as Thailand.  This book is easy reading, and is entertaining, interesting, and engaging.  Recommended.
