Truly creepy characters

I know that it’s a bit late for creepiness, as Hallow e’en has already passed, but I thought I’d mention a couple of characters that epitomize, to me, the ultimate of “creepiness”. The top two, in ,my book, are Anthony Hopkins’ portrayal of the insane genius cannibal Doctor Hannibal Lecter (Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal, and Red Dragon), and that landmark portrayal of Jack Torrance by Jack Nicholson in the 1980 horror hit The Shining.

I’ve not actually seen the movie Red Dragon, but I did read the book which, frankly, scared the shit out of me, whereas I did see the movies Silence of the Lambs and Hannibal, but didn’t read the books. The book Red Dragon, and the Stephen King book (sort of unrelated, I know) The Stand, are the two creepiest books that I’ve ever read.
